Put On the New Clothes
2 Corinthians 5:17; Colossians 3:9-10
When Lazarus walked out of the tomb, he was still wrapped in grave clothes. Jesus immediately told those around him to unbind him and let him go. New life had come, but the old wrappings still clung to him. Many believers experience genuine salvation and yet continue wearing the grave clothes of old habits, old mindsets, and old compromises. God has given you a new wardrobe. The old self, with its patterns and corruptions, was meant to be left behind. You are not who you used to be. Do not keep returning to a closet that was meant to be emptied. Walk in what Christ has already made you.
What old habit or mindset are you still carrying into the new life Christ has given you?
Choose one specific pattern of thought or behavior that belongs to your old life. Confess it, repent of it, and ask a trusted believer to hold you accountable as you walk away from it.
