Move the Stone

James 1:22; John 11:38-41
Jesus raised Lazarus, but he told the people standing nearby to move the stone. The miracle was his responsibility. The stone was theirs. God consistently invites his people to participate in what he is doing. He does not ask you to produce the miracle, but he does ask you to take the step of obedience that precedes it. Jesus thanked the Father before anything happened. He acted in faith before the tomb was opened. Hearing God's word and doing nothing about it is the very definition of the treadmill mindset. Whatever stone Jesus has already told you to move, move it.

What act of obedience has God been calling you toward that you have delayed because it does not yet make sense?

Identify one specific step of obedience you have been postponing. Take that step this week, even if you cannot see the outcome from where you are standing.
