Even Now Faith
Lamentations 3:19-26
Martha's two words: "even now" are among the most powerful expressions of faith in all of Scripture. She had every reason to close her heart. Her brother was dead. Jesus had not come in time. The outcome she prayed for had not arrived. And yet she said, even now, I know that whatever you ask from God, God will give you. This is not denial. This is not pretending the pain is not real. This is a woman who knows who Jesus is and refuses to let her circumstances have the final word over her faith. Even now is not a feeling. It is a choice.
What is the "even now" statement you need to make today? What is the situation in which you need to declare that God is still God despite what you see?
Write your own "even now" statement. Begin with what is true about your pain, and then follow it with what you still believe about God. Read it aloud.
