Your Response Matters | 2 Corinthians 7
You may not be able to undo what happened, but you can decide what happens next. In 2 Corinthians 7, Paul shows us why our response to God, correction, relationships, and discouragement matters.
You cannot always undo what you did, what happened to you, or the choices that brought you to where you are. But you can decide how you will respond next.
In 2 Corinthians 7, Paul writes to a church that had made mistakes, tolerated sin, and allowed outside voices to influence them. When confronted with the truth, they had a decision to make. Would they become defensive, harden their hearts, and ignore the correction, or would they listen, repent, and change?
Their response changed everything.
In this message, “Your Response Matters,” we see how our response to God’s promises should lead us toward holiness, how our response in relationships can either create distance or restore trust, and how God meets us in moments of discouragement. We also discover the difference between worldly sorrow and godly sorrow.
Feeling bad about sin is not the same as repentance. Worldly sorrow hates the consequences. Godly sorrow hates the sin and produces visible change.
The Corinthians could not change their past, but through repentance they repaired relationships, restored trust, encouraged Paul, and proved that their hearts had truly changed.
You may not be able to undo what you did, but you can change what you do next.
Your response matters.
