The Trial Of Jesus | John 5:30-47

Jul 12, 2026    Justin Pobst

People often reject Jesus not because there is a lack of evidence, but because their hearts are devoted to something else. In John 5:30-47, Jesus presents overwhelming testimony that He is the Son of God and calls every person to respond by receiving Him as Lord and Savior.

The courtroom is in session.

In John 5:30-47, Jesus does something unexpected. Instead of standing trial before His critics, He calls witness after witness to testify about His identity. John the Baptist, His miracles, the Father, the Scriptures, and even Moses all point to the same verdict: Jesus is exactly who He claims to be.

The problem was never a lack of evidence. The problem was the human heart.

This message explores why people reject Christ, the danger of living for human approval instead of God's approval, and the invitation Jesus gives to everyone who will come to Him for life.

The Judge has spoken. The witnesses have testified. Now the verdict is yours.
