Trusting God When Life Doesn't Go as Planned

What do you do when God doesn't answer your prayers the way you expected? In John 11, Jesus' response to Lazarus' death teaches us how to trust God's timing, hold on to His promises, and keep believing even when life doesn't make sense.

Have you ever prayed for something, believed God could do it, and then watched things turn out completely differently than you expected?

Maybe you prayed for healing that never came. A relationship that wasn't restored. A door that never opened. Or an answer that seemed to take too long.

What do you do when God doesn't do what you expected Him to do?

In this powerful message from John 11:1-27, we explore the story of Lazarus, Mary, and Martha, a family who loved Jesus but found themselves facing heartbreak, disappointment, and unanswered questions.

When Lazarus became sick, his sisters sent for Jesus. They knew He loved them. They knew He had the power to heal. But instead of coming immediately, Jesus waited. By the time He arrived, Lazarus had been dead for four days.

Why would Jesus wait when He had the power to change everything?

Through this incredible story, we discover that God's love isn't measured by the speed of His response, His purposes aren't limited by our deadlines, and His promises remain true even when our expectations fall apart.

We'll explore four important truths about trusting God when life doesn't make sense.

God's love doesn't guarantee the outcome we want.

God doesn't always work on our timetable.

God's purpose is bigger than our immediate problem.

God isn't obligated to fulfill a promise He never made.

Martha's response to Jesus reminds us of something powerful. Even in her disappointment, she continued to believe. Her circumstances had changed, but Jesus hadn't.

And the same is true for us today.

Faith isn't understanding everything God is doing. Faith is knowing who Jesus is even when we don't understand what He's doing.

If you're walking through disappointment, waiting on an answer, struggling with unanswered prayers, or wondering where God is in your circumstances, this message is for you.

Don't allow what God hasn't done to make you forget who He is.

When your expectations fail, God's promises still stand.
